ZOP1016: Managing Social Performance

Program Overview

The focus on sustainability, social performance, reputation and stakeholder management and corporate citizenship continues to be a significant issue for organisations in an increasingly regulated and externally monitored corporate environment. There is an expectation by governments, stakeholders and the media that organisations should have the inherent skills to incorporate positive values and behaviours and to actively engage with their constituents.

These expectations apply particularly to organisations that have significant social impacts such as the extractive industries, government and private infrastructure and utilities, financial institutions and property developers.

Many of these organisations are led and managed by those with exceptional technical competence who are preoccupied with daily operational matters and who have not had the opportunity for strategic reflection on stakeholder and community dynamics, social factors, human perceptions or the most effective methods for communicating change.
